The player's racket is, along with the yellow ball, the center of the 1-player game. The player's racket can have three different sizes: small, medium, or large. When the yellow ball collides with the racket, it can go in three different directions depending on the collision zone with the racket. By hitting the racket on the left edge, the ball changes direction by going northwest. On the right edge, the ball is directed northeast, while in the center of the racket the vertical direction of the ball is reversed, but the direction on the horizontal axis is preserved. Trying to hit the ball on the edges of the racket allows you to influence the direction of the ball and therefore also the bricks that must be destroyed first to optimize the points, but it is not without risk, because you are more likely to miss the bounce of the ball with the racket if the latter is a little too far to the right or left depending on the desired corner of the racket. Fortunately, to counter this risk, you have the possibility to enlarge your racket by buying the right bonus in store or by recovering it in a level by a bonus brick 'enlarge racket'. The larger your racket is, the greater the area of effect of its edges on the ball. By going from a small racket to a medium one you gain 50% of effective edge area and 50% by going from a medium to large size (so the area doubles between a small and large size). That said, by losing a ball if it touches the bottom of the screen, your racket shrinks by one unit.
